Goldern Triangle

The Golden Triangle is Kuala Lumpur's main shopping and nightlife district. Considered to be the closest thing to a Central Business District (CBD), the Golden Triangle is home to the ever popular shopping area of Bukit Bintang. To the north is KLCC, a multi-purpose development known for its shopping and the Petronas Twin Towers. Those looking to party should head towards Changkat Bukit Bintang and dance the night away.

The Golden Triangle in Kuala Lumpur includes Imbi, Pudu, KLCC and Bukit Bintang.

Pudu

Pudu is a busy district around the traditional Pudu Wet Market, which is filled with vendors selling fruit, seafood, and spices. The area has numerous tiny eateries serving home-style rice dishes, and hawker stalls at the cozy Glutton Street Night Market specialize in Malaysian-Chinese fare like fried noodles and radish cakes. An imposing gate and a ruined wall are all that remain of colonial-era Pudu Prison.

For local Chinese-Malay people, one of the best known places for street food is Jalan Sayur in Pudu. Commonly referred to as Wai Sek Kai (為食街) in Cantonese — which often is embellished in its English translation to "Glutton Street" — this grimy night market has changed little in decades and is considered widely to maintain more traditional Cantonese and Peranakan flavours.
Jalan Sayur is the kind of street that a foodie tourist, particularly an Asian foodie tourist, might make an effort to visit, but it had minimal presence on the big tourist advisory sites under any of its names — Jalan Sayur, Wai Sek Kai, or Glutton Street. The vast majority of tourists in Kuala Lumpur never make it to Jalan Sayur.

Chua Curry Chee Cheong Fun (咖哩豬腸粉)
It sells traditional Hong Kong-style rice noodles but instead of the more typical sweet, spicy, and peanut sauces, they top their noodles with soft pork skins and drown them in a thin curry sauce.

Char Kuey Teow (炒粿條)
There are at least two or three vendors selling the classic Chinese-Malay noodles on Jalan Sayur. Compared to elsewhere in the city, these sellers tend to stir-fry on very high heat, use a particularly dark rich sauce, and prefer to mix in salted egg for a very strong flavour.
